Gel Manicure / Pedicure Aftercare

Here are our top tips on how to keep that gel mani/pedi looking stunning for weeks on end. Jewels, not tools!

What To Do:

Wear gloves

Gel isn't a fan of cleaning supplies, so wearing gloves when you do the dishes will help stop lifting or chipping.

Use Cuticle Oil

Cuticle oil isn't just essential for your cuticle health, it helps your gel mani/pedi too!

It ensures the gel stays flexible, less likely to chip or have stress lines.

Fading?

Chlorine can fade gel colours. Make sure you wash any chlorine off your nails after enjoying the pool.

What NOT To Do:

Jewels, NOT Tools!

Best to avoid using your nails to pick or pull at things. It can be tempting, but this is how nails snap, gel breaks off or chipping occurs.

Filing?

If your nails are getting long, its best to let the professionals help out. Filing exposes the gel polish, which increases chances of lifting and chipping.

Tanning or repelling crawllies?

Some tanning oils and insect repellents can have a solvent oil in their ingredients. This fades gel colours, so best to avoid putting these products on the nail area
